| The first incarnation of Cytographics in the early eighties was inspired by the stunning still photographic images Jeremy was taking of the cells he studied. I imagined a gallery wall hung with luminous posters of Volvox and Micrasterias or the looming grey hull of this diatom, Surirella. | ![]() |
| The 4x5 transparencies soon gave way to 16 mm Kodachrome and then to high resolution video microscopy of living cells, revealing more and more of their beauty and mystery. Today Cytographics is dedicated to sharing our appreciation and understanding of the living cell as widely as possible. | |
| With a background in secondary education, literature and fine arts, I find myself somewhat prepared for the work I am now doing but only in the most general sense. Everyday I am challenged by new images, new concepts, new software, new hardware ...My role here includes just about everything but science. | |
